An RAF helicopter has been forced to make an emergency landing in Snowdonia in north Wales, police said.
The Ministry of Defence said the incident on Tuesday afternoon involved a training helicopter and no one was hurt, although the aircraft caught fire.
North Wales police said emergency services were dealing with an incident involving a helicopter in the Yr Aran area. Pictures posted on social media showed smoke rising above a mountain.
An MoD spokesman said: “A Griffin training helicopter safely completed a precautionary landing in Snowdonia this afternoon following a technical issue. All four people on board exited safely. Subsequently, the aircraft caught fire. Emergency services are on the scene.”
