Raeburn Place closed with five Edinburgh bus services forced to divert for next six weeks

Raeburn Place in Stockbridge is now closed to traffic, with five Edinburgh bus services disrupted as a result.

Lothian Buses have confirmed that services 24, 29, 36, 42 and X29 will all be forced to divert for the next six weeks.

A map has been produced by the bus company which shows the diversions each service will be required to take.

The westbound road closure to Raeburn Place has been put in place to allow utility works to be carried out on the route, and the measures were introduced earlier today (Tuesday).

SGN are working on a 30 week project, costing £2.2million, to upgrade the gas network in the Stockbridge area. They are replacing old, metal gas mains with new pipe.

Works have also been ongoing on Deanhaugh Street, with parking restrictions in place. Edinburgh Live previously reported how further parking suspensions on surrounding streets could also be in place as work is being carried out.

The project got underway on Monday, 6 January, and is scheduled to run over an eight month period.
