VANCOUVER, British Columbia _ The Dallas Stars have a hex on the Vancouver Canucks.
Maybe it's because owner Tom Gaglardi lives in Vancouver and throws a party when the team comes to town.
Maybe it's because center Tyler Seguin is dominant against the Canucks with 21 points in 15 games.
Maybe it's just one of those things.
But Dallas rolled its run against Vancouver to 13-0-1 Monday with a 2-1 overtime win at Rogers Arena.
The Stars relied on their trifecta of good things that have been a huge part of all seven of their wins this season _ goaltending, special teams and the top line. Ben Bishop stopped 38 shots and was remarkable at times. The power play tallied its sixth goal in the past three games, and the penalty kill was again solid. And Seguin tallied his seventh goal of the season and his eighth in his career against the Canucks.
It was hardly a perfect game. Dallas (7-5-0) was outshot 39-27 and Bishop had to stand on his head at times. The Stars continued to cough up pucks in the neutral zone and occasionally looked slow in transition. Maybe it was just that the new-look Canucks (6-3-2) under new head coach Travis Green were pretty fast.
The Stars took the lead in the second period when Alexander Radulov and Seguin combined on a fantastic play. Radulov worked a pass through the slot from the right circle and found Seguin wide open in the left circle. Seguin unleashed a one-timer that made the net jump.
Officials thought the net might have been dislodged before the shot and had to review the goal, but replays showed Seguin's shot was the only thing that moved the net.
That lead held until the third period when Marc Methot took an interference penalty.
Dallas had not allowed a power play goal in seven straight games, a run of 24 straight kills, but Vancouver scrapped, got the puck to the net, and Sam Gagner made a one-handed flick to get it over Bishop and tie the game at 1-1 six minutes into the third period.
Both teams then had golden scoring chances throughout the remainder of the game. But Radulov sailed in on the right wing and snapped his fourth goal of the season in to give Dallas the win in its first OT game of the year.
