A new radio station which will launch from a base in Northumberland in September is out to lift people's spirits following the pandemic gloom.
Frisk Radio - which is to play dance and R&B - says it will be transmitting from the North East for the North East, with 24/7 party music.
Launching on local small-scale DAB multiplexes, it will feature former Galaxy presenter Nick Jordan on weekday breakfast times alongside shows from Judge Jules, Roger Sanchez, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk and Tiesto.

And kicking off a Saturday night party mood will be Dave Kelly with a 'hitmix' of chart anthems.
Station owners Stuart Landreth and Mick Winter have been trialling the format through a smartphone app.
Stuart said: "The North East loves to party and, as we rise out of lockdown, we’re going to help uplift the mood of the region with a banging music format that runs 24/7.
“There is an immense amount of talent in the area and we’ve assembled a hardworking team of DJs, presenters and production staff who can’t wait to get the ball rolling.”
Frisk Radio will launch first on the Tynemouth and South Shields small-scale DAB multiplex then Newcastle and Gateshead are to follow soon afterwards.
