Radio presenter claims Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Spurs have enquired about Swansea City star

Talksport claim five of the Premier League's top six clubs have enquired about Swansea City youngster Daniel James.

James appears destined for the exit door this summer due to the restructuring process in place at the club following last year's relegation from the top flight.

After a stunning 2018/19 with both club and country, James has been linked with a host of clubs.

And Talksport presenter Jim White claims Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea have all enquired about the 21-year-old, adding that Wales boss Ryan Giggs has recommended the versatile winger to the Red Devils.

"Swansea City have got this lad Daniel James, a very impressive youngster," he said.

"He's rated at about £10m plus add-ons. It's my understanding that five of the top six, all apart from Man City, have enquired about Daniel James at Swansea.

"He was actually recommended to Manchester United by Ryan Giggs. He's a kid but he's got pedigree already.

"But he's a big Liverpool fan. I wonder, are we going to see this kid Daniel James heading towards Liverpool?"

The Swans are keen on strengthening their hand by handing James fresh terms at SA1.

However, that has proven difficult since his failed move to Leeds United, with talks stalling due to the wait between Huw Jenkins' departure and Trevor Birch's arrival as new chairman.

It's understood that the Swans are yet to receive any formal approaches for the in-demand Wales youngster, who has just one year left to run on his current deal at the Liberty Stadium.

WalesOnline understands James has caught the eye of Bournemouth and Newcastle United , while there is not thought to be any concrete interest from the Premier League's top clubs yet.

However, following a wonderful campaign for club and country, James may well attract the attention of the Premier league's big guns during the summer.

James was withdrawn to a standing ovation in the Swans' final home game of the 2018/19 campaign against Derby last week.

He missed out on the matchday squad for the 2-2 draw with Blackburn at Ewood Park on Sunday due to a toe problem.
