Radio personality apologizes for taunting K-State player with box score

There was a lot on the line for the Kansas Jayhawks on Monday. Kansas was coming off a blowout loss to Texas Tech that put the record streak 14 straight Big 12 championships in serious jeopardy. So it was no surprise that Allen Fieldhouse was juiced for a rivalry game against Big 12 leading K-State.

One fan, who happened to be a media member, let that excitement get the best of him.

Sporting Kansas City commentator and 810 WBH radio personality Nate Bukaty was seated in the front row at Allen Fieldhouse to take in the rivalry game. When K-State’s Xavier Sneed attempted to save a ball going out of bounds in the second half, the K-State forward picked up a couple score sheets and handed them back to the fans.

That was when Bukaty taunted Sneed by flashing the box score at him.

Bukaty was not seated in press row and attended the game as a fan. But it was an odd choice to taunt a college kid, particularly coming from someone who covers Kansas City sports.

After the game, Bukaty took to Twitter and apologized for his behavior.

His co-hosts at 810 also thoroughly roasted him on Tuesday.

It’ll probably be some time before Bukaty hears the end of that one.
