Radio City Breakfast’s Leanne Campbell will be joined by a new co-host from next month.
After it was announced that presenter Dave Kelly would be leaving the show to begin a new life abroad, listeners have speculated on who may take his place.
It was announced on the Breakfast show this morning that presenter Scott Hughes will be Leanne’s new co-host on the show from April.
Scott may be a familiar name for many.
The presenter previously hosted Drive on the station from 2014 to 2019 and has worked in radio roles within the North West region since 2003.
Speaking about her new co-host, Leanne said: "There is tons of love in this area for Scott after spending so many years on Radio City.
"It’s going to be such a laugh seeing him struggle with the 4am wake ups but at least he doesn't have to worry about doing his hair – welcome to the breakfast club Scott."
Speaking of his new role, Scott Hughes said: "I can’t wait to join Leanne on Radio City Breakfast.
"It’s always been on my bucket list to do this show as it’s so iconic to both the industry and the listeners.
"I can’t wait to be back on-air in the greatest city in the world! I’m absolutely buzzing."
The popular morning show is broadcast from the iconic Radio City Tower in Liverpool's city centre every weekday from 6am until 10am.
Presenter Dave Kelly who currently shares presenting duties with Leanne at Breakfast revealed his final show will be this Friday, March 27.
The radio presenter had previously announced that he will be leaving the UK to start a new adventure abroad with his family.
