Radford FC clinch victory in 2-1 win over Rainworth Miners Welfare

Radford battled to a 2-1 victory against Rainworth Miners Welfare in the East Midlands Counties League.

The Pheasants took the lead early on through a deflected Ravarn Jackson strike.

The winger picked up the ball at the back post following a Conor Moore cross and then cut back inside before shooting.

Rainworth dominated the action for the rest of the first-half and after 34 minutes they were back on level terms.

Cal Lytham slotted the ball home after his initial shot was saved by Radford keeper Scott Miles.

The second half saw Radford dominate but it took until the last ten minutes for them to find the back of the net again.

Ryan Smith hit the bar with a header before he finally put the Pheasants back ahead on 88 minutes. 

The Pheasants’ top scorer headed into the top corner from a Conor Moore cross which gave them all three points and moved Radford up to second in the league and one point away from leaders Eastwood .
