Racism accused Ondrej Kudela won't make UK trip over safety fears after alleged Glen Kamara comments

Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela has been withdrawn from the Czech Republic national side’s World Cup qualifier with Wales in Cardiff amid the fallout from his alleged racist abuse of Rangers’ Glen Kamara.

Lawyer Aamer Anwar said that Police Scotland planned to talk to the 33-year-old when he was next in the UK over comments made to the Ibrox star during a Europa League match last week.

Slavia face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the quarter-finals of the competition on April 8.

It is unclear whether Kudela will travel for that match, but he will definitely not be on the plane for Czechs meeting with Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium over “safety” fears.

According to the player’s legal team: "In order to help the investigation of UEFA and the Scottish police, as well as out of concern for the safety of Ondřej Kúdela, SK Slavia Praha agreed in agreement with the national team management not to release Ondrej Kudela for the Czech national team's match in Wales.

"Speculations published in the media about the possible detention of Ondrej Kúdela are not based on the truth."

Kudela could still play when the Czechs face Belgium this weekend.

A Police Scotland statement on Tuesday read: "We are investigating incidents of alleged racial abuse and a reported assault following the match between Rangers and Slavia Prague at Ibrox on Thursday, 18 March, 2021.

"Officers are liaising with both clubs and enquiries are continuing."
