Racing pundit John McCririck dies aged 79

Former racing pundit John McCririck has died aged 79.

Racing post revealed the sad news on their Twitter this morning.

They tweeted: "Sad to report that legendary racing broadcaster John McCririck has died at the age of 79."

John, who lost a whopping three and halt stone recently, had reportedly been ill for some time.

John McCririck lost three and half stone in 2007 (Channel 5)

Just last year he left fans stunned after making a shocking statement about his own health.

He told the Daily Mail: "Life is empty. I don't expect to be alive this time next year. It's a question of slipping away."
