Racing superstar Frankie Dettori "has never felt fitter" as he prepares to celebrate his 50th birthday.
The Italian rider, who reaches the milestone tomorrow, has had a glittering career that has seen him win 262 Group 1s and approximately £150 million in prize money.
But despite his advancing years, Dettori is enjoying more big race success than ever, and in his own words, feeling better than ever.
Sporting Index ambassador Dettori said: “I have never felt fitter or more ready and able than I am now at this milestone.
"Longines have recently awarded me the title of the Best Jockey In The World, based on worldwide ratings, for the third year in a row so that has added a spring to my step!”
In a career that has spanned over 30 years, Dettori has ridden the biggest proportion of his 262 Group 1 winners in the past six years (63), and although he might not be riding as many horses as he once did, there’s no doubt that on the big occasion, Frankie hasn’t lost any of his sparkle.
2020 was another stellar year for Dettori with nine Group 1 wins worldwide, including a 70 Royal Ascot winner, while he has also returned a profit of +13.1 to a £1 level stake in the UK.
