Racing at Clonmel cancelled with Fairyhouse to hold inspection

Today's racing at Clonmel is off due to parts of the track being frozen.

The Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board said in a statement: "Following an inspection this morning, the track at Clonmel was found to be frozen in places and therefore unfit for racing.

"The fixture scheduled for today, 7 January 2021, has been cancelled."

Meanwhile, an inspection is to take place on Friday for Fairyhouse's seven-race card on Saturday.

The track at the Co Meath venue is currently unfit for racing.

The IHRB tweeted: "The track at Fairyhouse is currently unfit for racing due to a covering of snow and frost overnight.

"There will be a 12pm inspection tomorrow (Friday) to determine if the fixture scheduled for Saturday 9th January 2021 can go ahead."
