Rachel Riley pulls priceless grin as extremely cheeky word is spelled out on Countdown

Countdown's Rachel Riley couldn't help but grin as a cheeky word was spelled out by Shappi Khorsandi.

The comedian insisted that her word "blowie" was a type of fly as Rachel raised her eyebrows at the camera.

Contestant Liz was turned to by host Nick Hewer, getting a five letter word with "whale", while another got three with "owl."

"Shappi?" Nick asked.

"Ummm..." Shappi said, "Six. Ummm...blowie. Which is a fly."

"Blowie, did you say?" asked Nick as a smiling Rachel spelled out the word.

Rachel couldn't help but smirk at the rude word, before Nick turned to Suzie Dent in Dictionary Corner and asked: "A blowie, Suzie?"

Shappi nervously gave her answer (Channel 4)

"Yes, a blow fly," Suzie replied with an impressively straight face.

Fans were loving it, taking to Twitter to process what they'd seen.

"As if BLOWIE just came up on #Countdown," one tweeted.

"The word BLOWIE on Countdown- everyone smirking apart from Nick. Great stuff. #countdown," another laughed.

It's not the first time the show has made the cast titter.

A recent episode saw them struggling to muffle their laughter as Rachel spelled out "fetish."

Comedian Rory Bremner also flagged the word "screwing", while last year Rachel struggled to suppress a giggle at "orgies."

Other episodes have seen Rachel spell out "phallus", "screwing", "erection", "orgasmed" and "squirter."

She's starred on the show for more than a decade, and to mark the milestone last year shared a compilation of the rudest words she's ever had to spell.

*Countdown airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 2:10pm.
