Celebrity chef Rachel Allen has praised her son Joshua as he embarks on a new career in Mixed Martial Arts.
This week Allen took to social media to heap praise on her son for his new venture into the popular sport.
She took to Instagram to re-share a post her other son Lucca had put up, showing Joshua at the competition with the medal around his neck.
"Go Josh @joshuaall_en !! You’ve worked so hard for this," she wrote, followed by two love heart emojis.
Meanwhile brother Lucca commented on his own page had previously commented on his own page: "So proud of my brother today. Gold in his first MMA competition,"
In February 2020, Allen was jailed for 15 months with another 15 months suspended at Cork Circuit Court for possession of €22,000 cannabis for sale or supply at his mother’s famous Ballymaloe Cookery School.
Well known chef Rachel previously opened up on the ‘tough’ time and her guilt that her kids have to grow up publicly because of her and their family's fame.
She said: “Yeah, it’s been really tough. You know, when I was growing up, no one knew of me.
“And I didn’t do anything like that to break the law, but I was able to grow up privately. And so you know what.. it is hard.
“And it has been really tough actually."
The best selling cookbook author based in Cork, who is also mum to 18-year-old son Lucca, and daughter Scarlett, who is in 6th class in school, added: “And I felt so bad, and I feel so bad.
“That an element of their lives is public, that you know, that makes it much more commented on than anyone else’s life."
Mum of three Rachel admitted that she wasn't able to watch her son competing over the weekend because she was worried about him getting hurt.
And Joshua isn't the only sporting talent in the family as Lucca, 19, is a race car driver.
The teenager is steering his way onto an impressive career track as he continues to wow motorsport bosses across the world, advancing from Formula 4 to Formula 3.
