Rachael Blackmore wins first race since returning from injury

Rachael Blackmore has secured her first winner since returning from injury.

The Grand National winner was side lined since July with an ankle injury but made a return to racing last week.

And the Tipperary woman scooped her first winner since her return.

Racing in Wexford, Blackmore paired up with Eklat de Rire as she got back into the winners circle.

A Henry De Bromhead trained horse was 10/11 favourite in the BetVictor M W Hickey Memorial Chase and proved its favourite tag.

Blackmore has been out of action since July 16 after she sustained a fractured ankle and picked up a hip injury in a fall at Killarney.

And she said of her comeback: “It is great to be back and I got a lovely horse to come back on.

“I feel good, have been riding out a few weeks now and I’m looking forward to getting going now and kicking on."
