Rachael Blackmore to return to action following injury

Rachael Blackmore will return to action at Galway on Saturday for the first time since July.

The top jockey has been sidelined since sustaining a fractured ankle and hip injury in a fall at Killarney on July 16.

She will partner previous Ryanair Chase winner and this year's Grand National runner-up Balko Des Flos in the W.B. Gavin & Co. Handicap Hurdle at Ballybrit for trainer Henry de Bromhead.

The Tipperary native enjoyed her best ever campaign last season as she became the first female jockey to win the Aintree Grand National.

She was also crowned the leading rider at the Cheltenham Festival with six winners and had 92 domestic winners.

Speaking last month, Blackmore said her recovery "has gone really well", adding that the doctors were happy with her progress.
