Race to the bottom: Jaguars name Mike Glennon starting QB vs. Bears

The Jacksonville Jaguars are making another change at quarterback this week when they take on Chicago.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jaguars are going back to Mike Glennon under center on Sunday against the Bears. This will be Glennon’s first chance to face the team he played for in 2017.

Jacksonville held an open quarterback competition in practice this week and Glennon beat out Gardner Minshew for the starting job.

Glennon has started in three games for the Jaguars this season and is 0-3. He has completed 61 percent of his passes and thrown for 600 yards. Glennon has three passing touchdowns to go along with three interceptions.

The Jets need Glennon to lead the Jaguars to their second win of the year on Sunday. The Jaguars currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft, while the Jets own the No. 2 overall pick.

If the Jaguars win or tie in one of their next two games and the Jets lose out, the Jets will have the No. 1 overall pick. Both teams have needs at quarterback and the odds on favorite to go first overall is Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence.

This week’s game against the Bears is probably the Jaguars’ best chance of winning a game with the Colts on deck for Week 17.
