A jobs fair will be staged in Paisley on Thursday in an attempt to plug a growing hole in the Renfrewshire workforce.
It comes as it emerged the number of people claiming Universal Credit in the county has again dropped.
The figure had been soaring by several hundred a month until July - but by September had dipped by 41 claims.
In figures released yesterday for October, the number dropped by another 157 people.
There’s now a total of 14,610 people in Renfrewshire getting the state top-up.

“It’s also a good way of giving themselves the best chance of securing a permanent role.
“I’d encourage jobseekers to visit the Find a Job website and locate their next local opportunity.”
The Jobs Fair will be held in the JobCentre in Paisley High Street and is for unemployed aged up to 24.
A total of ten Kickstart employers will be in attendance during the day , spanning hospitality, retail. warehouse, manufacturing and construction.
Renfrewshire Council will also promote a large number of Kickstart vacancies.
Meanwhile Barclays bank is offering a three-day “mentoring circle” for jobless of all ages.
The circle provides support to build confidence and gain skills which will “move candidates closer to employment.”
Joanne Gallacher added: “The mentoring circle can also help build aspirations to work in organisations that may have been previously perceived as being inaccessible.
“Mentors will use their life experience to draw out underlying skills and employability, creating a plan to address any barriers.”
