Celtic are said to be confident of winning the race for Nottingham Forest-linked striker Charlie Wyke.
The 28-year-old free agent has been attracting plenty of interest as his Sunderland deal comes to an end this summer.
He has held talks with the Black Cats about extending his stay, while the Reds, Championship rivals Cardiff City, Middlesbrough and Millwall, as well as Ipswich Town and Russian outfit CSKA Moscow have all been linked with the front man.
Forest, Cardiff and Millwall are said to have had discussions with Wyke, but Celtic are reportedly “increasingly confident” of persuading him to reject other offers.
On the move?
Winger Sammy Ameobi has been linked with a move to Turkey, following his release from Nottingham Forest.
The 29-year-old was among seven players let go at the end of their contracts, when the Reds announced their retained list - along with five loanees returning to their parent sides.
It leaves him as a free agent as he searches for a new club ahead of the upcoming season.
And, according to Turkish outlet Sporx, Ameobi is wanted by top-flight side Goztepe as they look to replace departing wide man Zlatko Tripic.
Transfer talk
Fans are still waiting for Nottingham Forest to do their first bit of transfer business this summer.
But there has been plenty of talk about who could be coming to and who could be leaving the City Ground in the next few weeks, now that the window is officially open.
Players are being linked with moves to and from the Reds as boss Chris Hughton gets the first real chance to put his mark on the squad.
Matt Davies and Sarah Clapson discussed the latest news and rumours surrounding the club in a live broadcast on our Forest Facebook page.
Here is how it panned out.
Fans' banter
Nottingham Forest fans have been poking fun at Scotland and Derby County keeper David Marshall after he was beaten from near the halfway line during his country’s defeat to the Czech Republic.
Scotland’s Euro 2020 campaign – their first appearance at a major tournament since 1998 – got off to a disastrous start as they were beaten 2-0 by the Czechs at Hampden Park.
Forest defender Scott McKenna was an unused substitute.
After a bright start from the home side, the Czechs grew into the game and took the lead just before half-time when Patrick Schick headed home following a cross from the right.
