Rabbits hop past Police to revive Thai league title hopes

BG Pathum's Conrado, centre, scores against Police Tero in Thai League 1 on Wednesday night.

BG Pathum United beat Police Tero 3-1 to revive their Thai League 1 title hopes on Wednesday night.

The Rabbits got off to a fast start with Worachit Kanitsribumphen opening the scoring after just seven minutes.

The hosts came close to scoring their second goal in the 18th minute when Ikhsan Fandi's shot hit the bar.

Police's Danilo Alves, the league's current top scorer with eight goals, forced BG goalkeeper Kittipong Phootaechuek to make a save.

Brazilian forward Conrado was on target for Pathum in the 67th minute, just two minutes after he came on as a substitute.

Jaroensak Wonggorn made it 3-0 after 76 minutes.

The visitors got a consolation goal from Isaac Honey in the 82nd minute.

They both next play on Sunday when Police Tero host Muang Thong United and Pathum are at home to Khon Kaen United.

Surprise package Chonburi are leaders on 21 points, one ahead of defending champions Buriram United.

Chonburi will meet third-placed Bangkok United on Saturday.
