Rabbit found abandoned on street in Pets at Home box

A RABBIT was found abandoned in the street in a Pets at Home box.

The Scottish SPCA is now appealing for information following the discovery on Christmas Eve in Dumbarton.

A brown and black rabbit was found on Quay Street by a member of the public, who reported the incident to the animal welfare charity.

Ally Bibby, Scottish SPCA centre assistant manager, said: “The rabbit is female and was found on Christmas Eve in a Pets at Home box.

“She is microchipped but unfortunately these details aren’t up to date.

“We understand that people’s circumstances can change, but this is not the right way to give up an animal if you can no longer care for them.

“If anyone recognises this rabbit, please contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
