R. Kelly will not be charged after Dallas police investigated STD accusation

R. Kelly will not be criminally charged in Dallas after being accused of giving a woman a sexually transmitted disease, police said.

An investigation into the allegations was launched last year.

"No criminal element was found," an official with the Dallas Police Department told the Daily News. "Therefore, no criminal charges will be filed."

Still, the singer isn't in the clear yet; TMZ reports that the alleged victim plans to travel to Manhattan to file a new police report, as the incident allegedly occurred in the Big Apple.

Kelly has faced numerous accusations of sexual misconduct and controlling the lives of multiple women, all of which he has denied. A Lifetime documentary series that aired last week garnered renewed attention around the accusations against him.

The Fulton County District Attorney's office in Atlanta launched a criminal investigation into the accusations against Kelly after the premiere of the series, TMZ reported Tuesday. The State's Attorney in Cook County (Chicago), meanwhile, urged any victims to come forward.
