R Kelly news: Former music intern accuses singer of sexual abuse – 'I didn't know if this was how adults acted'

A former music intern has come forward with her own R Kelly accusation in the wake of the Lifetime documentary that addresses multiple allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct against him.

The new allegation was the focus of US series Dateline, which saw reporter Andrea Canning hear disturbing claims of misconduct and abuse as well as claims of abduction and intimidation by the R&B singer’s legal team.

Tracy Sampson alleges meeting Kelly at the age of 16 while working as an intern at Epic Records in 1999. She claims that after rejecting his advances, she hugged the singer who proceeded to kiss her against her will. She also accuses him of “pleasuring himself” in front of her.

“I didn’t know if this was normal,” she said, breaking down. “I didn’t know if this was how adults acted. I just didn’t know.”

She states that, despite initially thinking he was a “creep”, she eventually fell in love with the singer and dated him for two years. Sampson went on to sue Kelly and they settled out of court for $250,000.

Epic Records is a label owned by Sony Music Entertainment. A representative was not immediately available for comment.

Sampson’s allegation comes just after Kelly was reportedly dropped by the record company.

Despite having faced numerous accusations of sexual abuse and misconduct over the past two years, Kelly has never been convicted. He has denied any wrongdoing.
