It’s moving time for R. Kelly.
And, apparently, his two girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage, 23, and Azriel Clary, 21 — who had been living with the R&B singer at his leased condo at Trump Tower until his arrest in July — are now looking for new digs.
“They are looking to be moved,” Kelly’s attorney Steve Greenberg said. “They are not being evicted. I believe their [condo] lease is paid up for August and perhaps September. The landlord has been great.”
Sneed is also told Greenberg, who tentatively plans to ask a judge to reconsider Kelly’s bond and ask for Kelly’s release at a status hearing next week, tells Sneed, “My client would live wherever his two girlfriends plan to relocate, and they are looking for a place in Chicago. They all plan to live together.”
Sneed also is told Kelly is expected to be moved into the Metropolitan Correctional Center’s general population next week.
Kelly has been held in the Special Housing Unit (SHU), a section for at-risk prisoners at the MCC, which is under the auspices of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Last Monday, Greenberg had filed a request for Kelly’s release from SHU because he was being subjected to “cruel and unusual punishment” in part because of his celebrity status.
The feds responded Kelly was not considered to be in solitary confinement because he at one time had a cellmate.
“My client is not a flight risk or a danger to the community, and the allegations are old. The only reason he is in custody is because he is a high-profile case,” Greenberg said.
Kelly faces a combined 18 counts in federal indictments in Chicago and Brooklyn, which could result in prison for 195 years for the Chicago case alone.
In Chicago, the singer faces 13 counts including child pornography, enticing a minor into illegal sexual activity and a conspiracy to obstruct justice.
