Quorn cocktail sausages are being recalled over fears they contain pieces of metal

Fears that veggie sausages could contain pieces of metal have resulted in a product recall.

Quorn is urgently recalling chilled cocktail sausages as the presence of metal makes the food unsafe to eat.

The sausages will be pulled from shelves and anyone who has already bought the product is urged not to eat them.

Customers who have bought the sausages should return them to the shop they bought them from for a full refund.

Food Standards Agency said: "The presence of metal makes this product unsafe to eat and presents a safety risk."

Those with a use by date of July 27, 2019, July 28, 2019 and July 30, 2019 are all affected by the recall notice.

The affected products will have this barcode: 501950302302.

No other date codes or Quorn products are known to be affected.
