Quiz the politicians in the Echo's General Election hustings event

The Liverpool ECHO is joining forces with Liverpool John Moores University to bring you a special Merseyside event ahead of the General Election.

Political Editor Liam Thorp will chair what is set to be a feisty debate between local candidates and politicians from across the political parties who will be campaigning for your crucial votes ahead of December 12.

We will be inviting questions from the audience on the night on the biggest issues facing the electorate including Brexit, the NHS, education and the economy.

Liam said: "I'm delighted to be chairing this debate at LJMU and am looking forward to seeing students and members of the public give those standing for election locally a good grilling on the key issues ahead of this election.

"This is the most important election most of us will have ever been involved with and scrutiny is more important than ever."

The debate is being held on Wednesday December 4 in Redmonds Large Lecture Theatre of the Redmonds Building at Liverpool John Moores University.

People will be asked to take their seats in the audience from 5pm with the debate set to start around 5.30pm and last until around 7.30pm.

To get one of 100 free tickets, visit our Eventbrite page .

For those who can't make it on the night, we will also be streaming the event live on the ECHO's facebook page.
