Five's director of programmes Jay Hunt - much tipped for the BBC1 controller job - turned up earlier this week at Liz Murdoch's production company Shine to give them hints on what kinds of programme to pitch. After she'd finished her talk, she asked the Shine crew if they had any questions. "Yes", piped up one. "What kind of direction is BBC1 programming going to be headed in?" Those wags. Monkey's hanging on to those sides, as they might just split.
