Quiz: How well can you remember classic prison sitcom Porridge?

A classic of British television, Porridge ran for three series on the BBC in the 1970s.

It saw "habitual criminal" Norman Fletcher (Ronnie Barker) navigate life detained at Her Majesty's pleasure, with inevitably comic consequences, alongside fellow inmate Lennie Godber (Richard Beckinsale) and austere prison officer Mr Mackay (Fulton Mackay).

Taking a significantly lighter tone than the BBC's current Sunday night prison drama Time – fronted by Sean Bean and Stephen Graham – Porridge came seventh in a 2004 poll to find Britain's best sitcom.

It has also had a strong legacy beyond its 20 episodes, returning for several sequels, a film adaptation, novelisations and a stage show.

But how well do you remember the original three series?

Will your knowledge help you get in the governor's good books or leave you in the slammer forever?

Share your score with friends and family and see how you compare.
