Quiz viewers were convinced Charles Ingram could be innocent after seeing the show.
It comes as the major insisted the TV mini series was "more accurate" than the court case which proved he cheated to win the Millionaire jackpot.
Charles and his wife Diana were found guilty of trying to steal a million pounds after they enlisted they help of quiz master Terence Whittock.
Whittock would cough at the right answers when Charles read them aloud during the show.
But Quiz put a spin on the show to make the audience think the Ingrams could have been innocent despite the charges.

Social media was awash with the "injustice" as fans expressed their beliefs the Ingrams could be innocent.
Among the crowd, one fan wrote: "I mean I don’t understand how Charles Ingram and his wife got found guilty??? So much evidence to suggest they were innocent? What were the jury thinking! #Quiz."
Others wrote: "Charles Ingram is innocent. Give him his Million back @ITV."

"Major Charles Ingram was innocent."
"Crazy how Charles Ingram was really innocent."
"After watching #Quiz just not sure if Charles and Diana Ingram were/are actually innocent. £1 million they thought was theirs but they never got to see a single penny of it. Imagine that!! Good watch though with everything going on...."

No one was a bigger fan of the show than the Millionaire cheat Charles.
Charles took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the show which fictionalised his life.
The major insisted the sound was more lifelike in the show than the composite tape played in the courtroom during his trial.
He said: "The studio sound on #Quiz Episode 2 is much more lifelike than the composite tape played in court then broadcast around the world.
"Quiz offers a more realistic sound like the recorded live stereo mix that is normally cut for broadcast."
