Quiz fans spotted a familiar face during Tuesday night’s episode of the ITV series when actress Jasmyn Banks showed up.
Banks, best-known for playing Alice Branning on the BBC soap EastEnders, stars as Nicola Howson, a member of the Who Wants to be a Millionaire? production team.
Banks appeared as Derek Branning's daughter in EastEnders for a year, from 2012.
She departed the show after a dramatic run-in with Michael Moon and Janine Butcher, which saw Moon killed by Butcher - who let Alice believe she was responsible for his death.
Viewers were happy to see Banks show up in the cast of Quiz, joking that Alice Branning had been sent in to solve the problem of Charles Ingram’s alleged cheating.
“Alice Branning to the rescue,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another added: “obsessed with alice branning and madison drake from eastenders working for ITV.” [sic]
Banks tweeted last night that she was watching nervously along with everyone else.
“gaaaahhhhh who's watching #QUIZ my heart is hammering can't cope!” she wrote. [sic]
Fans told Banks on Twitter they were ecstatic to see her back on TV.
“I didn't recognise you on this show,” wrote one viewer. “I remember when you were in #EastEnders when you played as Alice Branning! Good to see you back on the TV screen again!”
Banks appears in Quiz alongside Michael Sheen as Chris Tarrant, and Matthew Macfadyen and Sian Clifford as Charles and Diana Ingram.
The third and final episode of Quiz airs tonight at 9pm on ITV.
