Solutions

1:A - It's the former home of Arsenal – now redeveloped into 650 flats, with a communal garden where the pitch used to be. The most expensive apartments will set you back over £1.5m., 2:C - Derby won this game 2-0 on their way to the title, with Liverpool finishing second. The Rams left their historic home for Pride Park in 1997, and it was demolished in 2003. A Derby fan, George Glover, scored the final goal at the ground in a friendly match between supporters., 3:A - It's the former home of Middlesbrough FC. The game in question is perhaps the most famous to be played at the old stadium – North Korea's shock 1-0 win over Italy at the 1966 World Cup., 4:C - In 1995 the ground's Main Stand was damaged by a fire, with the club chairman, Ken Richardson, eventually found guilty of conspiracy to arson and jailed for four years. Doncaster Rovers left the stadium in 2005; it has since been replaced by a housing estate., 5:C - The Boleyn Ground, to use its proper name, was West Ham's home from 1904 to 2016 before they relocated to the London Stadium in Stratford. Before it was demolished, the old ground was used as the setting for Final Score, a 2018 action film starring Dave Bautista., 6:B - United players returned the following day to beat Juventus 3-2 and reach the 1999 Champions League final. The stadium was built for Italia 90 but was never popular with Juve or Torino fans, and in 2006 it was knocked down, with the Allianz Stadium built in its place. Torino returned to their previous home, the renamed Stadio Olimpico., 7:A - The Goldstone Ground in Hove, pictured in 1963, was the Seagulls' home until 1997 when chairman Bill Archer sold it, plunging the then fourth-tier club into uncertainty. A move to what was then the City of Manchester Stadium led to dramatically better days; the old ground in Moss Side is now a housing estate., 12:C - 'The Vic' was Stoke's home for 119 years before they moved to the Britannia Stadium in 1997. Sir Stanley Matthews, pictured above, was one of the club legends there to wave it goodbye., 13:B - It's Ninian Park, former home of Cardiff City. The match in question is Wales' 1958 World Cup qualifying playoff against Israel. Wales went on to reach the quarter-finals at the tournament., 14:B - The Parkstadion in Gelsenkirchen, former home of Schalke, hosted this game between Brazil and Zaire, as well as Yugoslavia's 9-0 win over the African debutants. , 15:A - The former home of Brentford – with a pub on each corner – closed in 2020 when the Bees moved into the nearby Gtech Community Stadium.
