Quirky 17th century farmhouse offers a taste of country living

If you've ever fancied living in the midst of Merseyside's open countryside then this house could be for you.

Reeds Brow Farmhouse sits on a substantial plot of land and benefits from a rural setting, but stays within easy reach of Rainford village. The charming double fronted house would offer ample space for growing families or those who fancy a quieter life away from the city.

Notable features include a Victorian double-storey side extension and a gallery style hallway overlooking a small courtyard that links converted outbuildings.

There is bare brick and exposed beams in abundance on the ground floor, alongside calming light blue paint on some feature walls. The blue theme continues throughout, and includes a standout baby blue Belling range cooker.

Keeping you cosy when the cold nights draw in are a number of period fireplaces across the house.

There's a log burner in the kitchen/diner and another in the living room, adding a homey warmth to the property. The latter stands out amid the mustard tiled surround, adding a pop of colour to the space.

Even the bathroom has its own cast iron fireplace. The vast room also includes its own standalone bath and a large shower.

The period touches in the bathroom are juxtaposed with modern decorative touches, including zinging yellow walls, monochrome tiling and ornate wallpaper. There's even a chaise longue to relax after your soak.

Mullion windows in the bedrooms offer views of the green fields and open countryside beyond the house.

A garden room on the ground floor leads onto the paved patio, where you can take in the solitude. The property is surrounded by lush green fields offering peace and privacy.

There is also a large lawn area and to the front of the house is off road parking fit for four or five cars.
