Quique Sanchez Flores: Return to Waford was impossible to turn down

Quique Sanchez Flores says it was impossible to turn down the chance to return to Watford.

The Spaniard was appointed as the Hornets’ new head coach last weekend after they parted ways with Javi Gracia following one point from four Premier League games this season.

Flores has returned to Vicarage Road for a second stint after guiding Watford to an FA Cup semi-final and 13th in the Premier League back in 2016.

The 54-year-old parted ways with the club after just that one season when a break clause in his contract was activated, but after they made an approach for him again this month he said it was impossible to say no.

“It was a very easy decision. I've been a coach for 16 years and this the time I spent in Watford I was really happy,” said Flores.

“It was a good experience and this experience was amazing. I had good people around and an amazing feeling with fans.

“The moment I left I was waiting for the moment to come back to England. I feel Watford is my home.

“You always think about how to recreate your best dream. To come back to Watford wasn't exactly a plan but it was a possibility because of my memories and the happiness.

“I was in my house and received a call and I was really interested to know what Watford need and if I was able to do something for them. It was impossible to say no.
