Quinnen Williams expected to be full participant next week

At 6-foot-3 and 303 pounds, first-round pick Quinnen Williams flashed freakish athleticism while at Alabama. However, the rookie defensive tackle has yet to show that with the Jets thanks to a calf injury that has limited him during offseason workouts thus far.

Rest assured Jets’ fans. Adam Gase spoke to the media on Wednesday and said that Williams will be a full go in the final week of OTAs next week.

Prior to this season, the Jets traditionally held all their OTA practices before the mandatory minicamp session. Under Gase, New York will instead wrap up with a week of practice on the heels of minicamp.

Players such as Le’Veon Bell can resume offseason workouts in whatever fashion they elect to partake. For Williams, this will give him an opportunity to line up with his fellow teammates and formulate chemistry on the field.

It is still too early in the offseason to project any difficulties with Williams’ calf in the future. For now, the Jets will continue to cautiously monitor his health and get their prized-rookie back to his havoc-wreaking self.
