Quinn Cook says he’s living a ‘point guard’s dream’ with LeBron, Rondo and Kidd

The Los Angeles Lakers have some questions at guard, with a collection of specialists, veterans and seemingly one-dimensional players that offer one collective answer but fail to give the Lakers a singular point guard to get behind. But that is just what we see from the outside. According to one of the newest Lakers guards, learning the craft as a point guard is a dream with the Lakers.

Quinn Cook, who projects to be an effective spot-up shooter on the Lakers next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, says that working with LeBron, veteran guard Rajon Rondo and assistant coach Jason Kidd is “a point guard’s dream.”

Cook is a career 42 percent 3-point shooter and has a lot of valuable playoff experience, filling in for Golden State’s Stephen Curry over the past couple of seasons.

As it stands right now, Cook looks like someone who will come off the bench. However, it’s not very clear who will start at point guard. Ideas including everything from LeBron starting at point guard to Rondo or third-year guard Alex Caruso starting have been floated, but we likely won’t get any real clues until the preseason.
