Quilly Road closed after two vehicle crash

A man in his 80s is in a critical condition after a crash between a car and digger in Co Derry.

The crash happened on the Quilly Road between Articlave and Coleraine on Monday evening.

It involved a Citroen C3 car and a Manitou digger. The road was closed but has now re-opened.

A PSNI spokesman said: "The Quilly Road between Articlave and Coleraine has now re-opened following a two vehicle road traffic collision on Monday 16th September.

"A man aged in his 80s remains in hospital in a critical condition following the collision, which occurred at around 10pm on Monday evening and involved a Citroen C3 car and a Manitou digger.

"Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police in Coleraine on 101 quoting reference number 2320 16/09/19."
