Since last month, supermarkets have seen increasing demand with them being one of the few places people can actually visit during this lockdown.
And while staff and suppliers are doing their best to keep shelves fully stocked and customers happy - you may still be finding you're missing out on what you want.
Similarly with social distancing measures, you may have found that you are arriving to the shop at busy times and are having to wait outside as per the rules.
But, there is actually a way you can check how busy supermarkets are on any given day thanks to Google's handy tools.
Visiting data from people's phones records how many are in a store at any given time and offers insights into what time is busiest and quietest on any given day.
We've trawled through the data for Ireland's main supermarkets to see what the trends are.
Picking out 10 stores from around the country under each chain, we found most have very similar patterns which are outlined below.
Supermarket busiest hours in Ireland
Tesco
Across the board in all supermarkets, for whatever reason, Wednesday appears to always be the quietest day for shopping.
In most Tescos you will find the busiest days on Saturdays and Sundays.
The quietest hours are generally from opening to midday - although keep in mind before 9am is a dedicated time for elderly shoppers everywhere.
The busiest period in most shops appears to be from 4pm to 8pm with a general peak around 6pm.
Aldi
Again it's Wednesday when you should go shopping to find the least amount of people in stores in most spots around Ireland.
Saturday and Sunday are the busiest days in most shops although Monday and Tuesday evenings in some are just as hectic.
Before lunchtime is always the quietest in stores - however priority hours are 11am to 1pm - so maybe come in before that to have a comfortable shop.
6pm generally is the busiest time in the majority of Aldi stores.
Lidl
Wednesday is the quietest day for shopping in Lidl too - maybe because nobody wants to shop in the middle of the week?
The weekend and Monday as well as Tuesday tends to be the busiest few days for getting the shopping done here.
Early mornings are the best time to avoid the crowd and just before closing although that could lead to you shopping on empty shelves.
9am to 11am are priority shopping hours so don't try and cheat the system and shop then if you don't meet the criteria.
SuperValu
No surprise that it is Wednesday that's the quietest time for shopping again - shoppers really hate Wednesdays.
SuperValu stores all have different hours so narrowing it down to a chain wide rundown isn't quite as easy but there are some obvious trends in all.
Friday to Monday are the busiest days, just before closing is the best hour to do your shop in terms of how quiet it is and both the period around 3pm and then 6pm are busiest.
Dunnes Stores
You guessed it, Dunnes shoppers aren't big fans of Wednesdays either, so you could try do your shopping then.
Once again all Dunnes have different hours so it is difficult to give a good company wide rundown.
But it is clear that Saturday and Sunday are the busiest days.
You should head in store and hour or two before closing for the most comfortable shop and the busiest time tends to be from 1pm to 3pm.
How do I check my local store?
It's not too difficult, you will simply have to google the store where you shop so "Aldi, Waterford Road, Kilkenny" for example.
You will then be able to click on the store on google and you will be given the real time stats as outlined in the picture above.
From there you can check each day as well as how busy it is right now.
