Quicken Loans: MSU alum Dan Gilbert suffered a stroke

Michigan State University alumnus and Detroit business mogul Dan Gilbert is recovering after he suffered a stroke Sunday.

Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farner released a statement Monday night, updating Gilbert’s situation.

According to the release Gilbert wasn’t feeling well Sunday morning and was taken to the hospital by a family friend. While at the hospital Gilbert suffered a stroke and was immediately taken in for a procedure.

Gilbert is now said to be recovering and resting comfortably.

Gilbert graduated from Michigan State in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree. He went on to find great success in business in the form of Quicken Loans and Rock Ventures, among other businesses. Gilbert also owns the NBA’s Cleveland Cavalier.  In 2016 he and his wife Jennifer made a $15 million donation to help fund renovations at the Breslin Center and other academic endeavors.
