A man in his 40s has been arrested over a late night aggravated burglary that happened in south Dublin on Monday.
The shocking incident took place at a business premises on the Rathgar road at around 10:30pm.
Gardai rushed to the burglary after the alarm was raised by the owner during the frightening ordeal.
The burglar was spotted smashing a window to break-in before opening the till inside and stealing cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
One man was nabbed by Gardai a short time later with the stolen cash recovered by the hardworking officers.

The arrested man was taken to Rathmines Garda Station and is currently still being questioned.
A spokeswoman for the Gardai told Dublin Live: "We have arrested a man, aged in his 40s, in relation to an aggravated burglary that took place at a business premises on the Rathgar road, Dublin 6 yesterday evening, Monday 19th October at approximately 10.30pm.
"The owner of the premises was alerted to the incident when the suspected offender smashed a window to gain access.
"The man was then observed opening the till and taking a sum a cash before fleeing the scene on foot."
She added: "Gardaí apprehended the male a short time later and recovered the stolen cash.
"He was arrested and taken to Rathmines Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"No further information is available at this moment and investigations are ongoing."
