Busy scenes were reported at the opening of Nottingham's walk-in vaccine centre for over 25s this weekend.
The Pfizer vaccine is being offered from 8am until 6pm at the Forest Recreation Ground on Saturday and Sunday (June 13) with no need to book.
Mansfield Vaccination Centre is also offering a walk-in service for over 25s this weekend.
The site manager told our reporter at midday on Saturday "it has been non-stop, with queues all the way down Forest Rec car park at 8am".
"We have plenty of staff and plenty of vaccines for people so come on down," they said.
Two police officers were at the scene following a small protest by people against the vaccine.
A group of around 10 people took part in the protest.
Nicola Lunt, 53, from Mapperley, had her second jab at Forest Recreaction ground's walk-in centre.
She said: "Despite it being open to everyone I had no problem at all. I was booked it at 3pm but I turned up early and they let me in. A lot of people, if you are lucky enough to have a job, could have odd working hours and you don’t know if you can keep an appointment so if you find yourself free today then you could just pop down.”
Ryan Grainger, 29, of Stapleford, said: "My neighbour who works here sent the street a text this morning saying come down and get your jab. I was booked in next Friday but thought I would come a week earlier. I got here at 12 and had my jab at 12.05pm. All over really quickly."
Issac Murdy, 28, from the Arboretum, said: “It has been really easy today. For me it was like popping in for a beer on a Saturday. You are protected and protecting everyone else."
