Queues of four miles on M62 following two-car crash

There are long delays on the M62 this afternoon following a collision between two cars.

The main eastbound carriageway is closed after traffic was stopped at around 1.35pm on Friday afternoon (September 4).

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

Traffic is queueing for four miles after the crash at junction 25 A644 Wakefield Road, in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.

There is congestion up to junction 24 at Ainley Top.

Traffic is also moving slowly on the westbound carrigeway.

A spokesperson for Highways England said: "We are currently sending all traffic off at J25 and back on again at the entry slip.

"Congestion is building. Please allow extra time for your journey."
