Questions over Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi's future as woeful start continues

Under pressure

Sabri Lamouchi insists he remains the right manager for Nottingham Forest, despite coming under mounting pressure after a fifth straight defeat

The  Reds  are yet to get off the mark in the Championship this season, after four games, and were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup at Barnsley.

Their latest defeat, a  2-1 loss at home to Bristol City, leaves Lamouchi in a perilous position.

But the Frenchman maintains he can turn Forest’s form around, as they head into the international break.

Departure explained

Sabri Lamouchi has confirmed midfielder Tiago Silva asked to leave Nottingham Forest this summer.

The Portuguese today completed a move to fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos, after little more than a year at the City Ground.

Silva was a regular in Lamouchi’s team last season as the Reds fell at the final hurdle when it came to securing a play-off spot.

He had not featured this term, however, due to an ankle injury and has now headed to Greece for an undisclosed fee.

Fans' verdict

Nottingham Forest's nightmare start to the season continues after they were beaten 2-1 by Bristol City on Saturday.

The Reds have now lost all four of their league games with a first goal of the season, scored in spectacular style by Luke Freeman, the only crumb of comfort.

Forest fell two behind in the first half to goals from Andreas Weimann and Nahki Wells with Freeman giving them hope before the break.

Sabri Lamouchi's team pressed hard in the second half with Daniel Bentley in fine form in the Bristol City goal.

Player ratings

Nottingham Forest put in a better performance, but still fell to a fifth defeat of the season as they were toppled 2-1 by Bristol City.

Luke Freeman claimed their first goal of the campaign to reduce the deficit and give Sabri Lamouchi’s side a lifeline at the break.

But despite pushing for a leveller in the second half, they could not find a way past Daniel Bentley, who was in top form for the visitors.

Here’s how Reds reporter Sarah Clapson rated the Forest players at the City Ground.

Farewell message

Tiago Silva says his short stint with Nottingham Forest was the happiest of his career.

The Portuguese midfielder has made the switch to Olympiacos for an undisclosed fee, with countryman Cafu expected to make the move the other way before Monday's transfer deadline.

Silva took to Instagram on Saturday with a goodbye message to Forest fans.
