Questions about Hoiberg's hold on Bulls locker room remain

CHICAGO _ One of the most damning byproducts of the Bulls' recent dysfunction is the questions it raises about coach Fred Hoiberg's hold on the locker room.

Hoiberg said he remains absolutely committed to the job and working to hold players accountable.

"It starts with me," Hoiberg said. "I have to get us prepared to play consistently and win games."

In his Instagram post Thursday, Rajon Rondo accused Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade of having undue influence over the coaching staff.

"I don't know. I don't think like that," Butler said when asked his opinion on that accusation. "I just play ball. Maybe. If I have a concern, I go to them. That doesn't mean he listens to me all the time. But I would hope he takes my opinion into mind."

Rondo didn't back down, saying the organization needs to be more consistent with accountability.

"Whatever the coaches come in with, that's what it has to be," he said. "Simple as that. I can only revert back to what I know. We didn't always agree with (Tom Thibodeau in Boston) when he came out with a game plan (as associate head coach), but we talked about it and were all on the same page."

Butler said Hoiberg is "doing a good job" overall.

"I know he wants to win," Butler said. "I know he cares. I see him. I talk to him. He's up late at night like I'm up late at night."
