Question: What do you think of the new kerbside food caddy?

Last week Cardiff council issued households across 14 wards in the city with new kerbside caddies as part of changes to its waste collection scheme.

The kerbside caddies had been trialled in some wards in the city and the council said they were a success in reducing waste and pest problems and increasing recycling rates. Guest blogger Phil Jones wrote about the trail here.

Residents along with their new kerbside caddy received an information leaflet with liners for the kitchen caddy – when the liners get full they are to be placed outside for collection in the kerbside caddy before 6am on collection days.

Last week executive member for environment Margaret Jones said the new caddies should become effective in the summer months when seagulls notoriously attack the food bags ripping them open onto the streets.

But we wanted to know what you think of your new caddy now it's arrived. We're opening up this comment thread for you to tell us how you like your new kerbside caddy - leave a comment below.
