Question Time audience man's brutal verdict on David Cameron and 'little kid' MPs

A BBC audience member has spoken for a nation with his brutal, languid response to the legacy of David Cameron.

The man asked flagship panel show Question Time how he could sue the former Prime Minister for "mental distress".

It comes as the ex-PM 1,182 days after he resigned over the Brexit vote.

Mr Cameron has always insisted he was right to call the 2016 EU referendum that has split the nation, ousted two Tory PMs and held up reforms elsewhere in government.

But the man, named as Charlie Neil, said: "How do I sue David Cameron for causing mental distress, uncertainty and proroguing any progress in reasonable government?"

And asked how he'd see the ex-PM's legacy, the Scot replied bluntly: "Oh, I don’t care, to tell you the truth."

Audience members in Norwich laughed and host Fiona Bruce joked "tell us what you really think!" as Security Minister Brandon Lewis grinned nervously.

He added: "The whole thing's a nightmare.

"I'm just sick and tired.

"You’ve had three years and three months and you’ve done nothing but argue among yourselves like little kids.

“You’ve got no respect for each other and you've got no respect for the British people.

"Just.. oh.. pfft.. go away."

Sadly for Charlie, David Cameron - who ironically warned of "chaos with Ed Miliband" if he didn't win the 2015 election - has no plans to go away.

The first hints of his memoirs, written in a £25,000 'shepherd's hut' at the bottom of his garden, are expected to appear in newspapers this weekend.

And he will take part in a string of high-profile TV and radio interviews ahead of the release on Thursday.
