A QUESTION Time audience member was applauded after saying she thought moving to Scotland meant she was given opportunities like free tuition that she wouldn’t have “if I stayed in England”.
Speaking at the end of the programme, hosted this week in Dumfries, the woman said that she worked for the NHS, had gone to university because of free tuition and felt Scotland gave her better opportunities than England.
🏴 Nice intervention from this woman at the tail end of Question Time last night. “I was born in England, I moved in 2002 - Scotland gave me such an opportunity. “I did vote Yes.” pic.twitter.com/OQwJvOUWKB

She said: “I was born in England, I moved in 2002 and Scotland gave me such an opportunity. I’ve been to university twice, I work for the NHS, free tuition, we can get a doctor’s appointment on the same day. I just feel that if I stayed in England, I would never have got any of that opportunity that I’ve been afforded.”
The audience applauded her comments and host Fiona Bruce asked: “And so would you like Scotland to become independent or not?”
She said she “would” and revealed she had voted for independence in the 2014 referendum.
The woman said: “I did vote Yes, I would.”
