Quentin Tarantino says he would 'love' to do a horror film

Quentin Tarantino’s next and perhaps final film as director could be a horror.

Speaking to an international press outlet during the Once Upon a Time in Hollywoodpromotional tour, Tarantino said: “If I come up with a terrific horror film story, I will do that as my tenth movie. I love horror movies. I would love to do a horror film.”

The Academy Award winner has previously covered genres ranging from neo-noir crime thriller with Reservoir Dogs to martial arts with Kill Bill and revisionist western with Django Unchained.

The legendary director has claimed in past interviews that he only plans to direct 10 films, before retiring to concentrate on writing film books and theatre.

“If it’s really well received, maybe I won’t go to 10. Maybe I’ll stop right now! Maybe I’ll stop while I’m ahead. We’ll see,” said the Pulp Fiction writer and director, when interviewed in July by GQ regarding Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

There are also strong rumours that the new Star Trek film he's written could be the film he chooses to direct as his last one.

The new film – which stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio and has a pretty surprising thing in common with the new season of Netflix show Mindhunter – is already out in the US and will be released in the UK on 14 August.
