Quentin Tarantino reveals what he plans to do after retiring from directing films

Quentin Tarantino has revealed what he plans to do with his time after retiring from making films.

The director, who has long claimed that he’ll step down from directing after his tenth film, is about to release his ninth feature, Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood.

Talking about his plans in a new interview with GQ Australia, the Pulp Fiction director stated that he thinks he’s “come to the end of the road” with his experience directing “theatrical movies” – and shed some light on what he plans to do with his career when that time rolls around.

“I see myself writing film books and starting to write theatre, so I’ll still be creative. I just think I’ve given all I have to give to movies.”

As well as these plans, it certainly seems like Tarantino will have producing duties on several forthcoming films, including the planned R-rated Star Trek film and a “sequel” he’s developing to Django Unchained.

But, despite planning on directing one more film, Tarantino is clearly considering finishing things with his new film, which stars Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Leonardo DiCaprio.

“If it’s really well received, maybe I won’t go to 10. Maybe I’ll stop right now! Maybe I’ll stop while I’m ahead. We’ll see.”

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is released in UK cinemas on 14 August
