Quentin Tarantino confirms Kill Bill Volume 3 is 'definitely in the cards'

One of Quentin Tarantino’s most popular films could be receiving another sequel, after the director confirmed that Kill Bill Vol. 3 is “definitely in the cards”.

A new film has been rumoured for months, after the filmmaker spoke in the summer about early talks with Uma Thurman. Now, it seems it could be closer than ever.

Tarantino spoke to Sirius XM Radio's Andy Cohen this week, revealing he’d come up with a concept for a third movie and discussed it with Thurman.

“Well, I just so happen to have had dinner with Uma Thurman last night,” he told Cohen.

The director went on to say he’d thought about “exactly what’s happened to The Bride since [the last film], and what do I want to do [next]. Because I wouldn’t want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn’t deserve that.”

He added: “The Bride has fought long and hard. Now, I have an idea that actually could be interesting. I wouldn’t do it for a little bit, though. It would be like at least three years from now, or something like that. But look, it is definitely in the cards.”

While the film has yet to be officially confirmed, it could mark one of the most interesting projects in Tarantino’s later career. The director has long spoken about retiring after making 10 movies – Once Upon A Time in Hollywood marked his ninth film earlier this year, meaning if Kill Bill Vol. 3 could end up being the director’s final work.

Tarantino also recently said that his next movie was on hold, with plans to work on a book, a play and a television series before then.

Kill Bill follows an unnamed assassin as she wakes from a coma and tracks down her ex-lover Bill, who tried to kill her. The original film was released in 2003, before the sequel in 2004.
