Quentin Tarantino brazenly says The Social Network is the best film of the decade ‘hands down’

Perhaps forgetting the likes of Moonlight, Roma, Carol, Whiplash and countless others, Quentin Tarantino has picked The Social Network as his favourite film of the past decade.

The master filmmaker brazenly said that David Fincher's drama is “hands down” the best film of the past 10 years in an interview with French publication Premiere.

Rather than detail why, the director simply said: "It’s The Social Network, hands down… it is number one because it’s the best, that’s all! It crushes all the competition."

Tarantino previously named Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk as his second favourite film of the decade back in January, and said he is currently putting together his top 10 list.

The Social Network focuses on the creation of Facebook and the subsequent lawsuits concerning co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, as well as Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.

Tarantino isn’t alone in his appreciation for the film. The 2010 movie features excellent performances from Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake and Armie Hammer, and holds a 96 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Written by Aaron Sorkin, was critically revered at the time, winning Oscars for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Film Editing.

Tarantino's films from the past decade include Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood.
